Privacy policy

This site is the personal brand website of Carol Builds. This page explains what information is collected when you visit, and how it is used.

Information you give me

• Your email address, when you ask for a free guide. It is stored with Resend, which sends you the download link and keeps the mailing list.
• Your email and message, when you write to carol@carolbuilds.com.
• Anything you tell me about your business during our conversations.

Information collected automatically

This site uses PostHog for analytics, so I can see which pages and resources people actually use. PostHog records page views, clicks, approximate location from your IP address, and the kind of device and browser you are on. It is routed through this site's own domain rather than a third-party one.

No profile is created for anonymous visitors. A profile is only created once you give me your email address by asking for a guide.

How information is used

What you send is used to reply to you, deliver the resource you asked for, and keep our working relationship running. It is not sold, rented or traded.

You are added to my mailing list when you request a guide. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing does not affect anything else.

Who processes it

• Resend — email delivery and the mailing list.
• PostHog — analytics.
• Vercel — hosting.
• Cloudflare — file storage for the downloadable guides.

Each of these processes data on my behalf in order to run this site. Information is not shared with anyone else except where required by law.

Third-party links

This site links elsewhere — social profiles and, in future, separate software platforms. Those services have their own privacy policies, and this one does not cover them.

Your choices

You can ask me at any time what information I hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Email carol@carolbuilds.com and I will take care of it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version is posted on this page with a new date at the top.
